The problem of the finite torsion of a long solid circular cylinder was solved by B. R. Seth for the case that the cylinder is isotropic or transversally aeolotropic. B. R. Seth's method may be applied to obtain values for the torsion of isotropic hollow cylinders and hexagonal aeolotropic cylinders. The numerical results were compared with those obtained by means of the theory of the infinitely small compulsion.
