Garnished with its molecular structure, the cover picture exhibits the thermal behavior of energetic 2‐azido‐1,3‐dimethoxyimidazolium perchlorate, a salt consisting purely of ionic redox couples. Even miniscule amounts thereof disintegrate violently upon thermally induced self‐ignition. Isostructural mixed crystals can be grown as well, for example by diluting with less redox‐responsive hexafluorophosphate, which is coherently reflected in phlegmatization. A comparative model study with a series of related systems is disclosed in the article by Fliri et al. on page 365 ff.
