The cover picture shows the molecular structure of the lithium salt of the bulky thiol ligand SHyp (Hyp = Si(SiMe 3 ) 3 ) which reacts with Ph 3 PAuCl to give the Au I compound Ph 3 PAuSHyp, whose molecular structure is shown in the centre. Both structures were experimentally determined by single crystal X‐ray structure analysis. The Au I precursor might be the first step for the synthesis of metalloid gold clusters, kinetically stabilized by the bulky SHyp ligand as schematically shown bottom right. The background shows the casting of gold bars from molten gold. More details and further reactions with other transition metal sources are discussed in the article by Schnepf et al. on pp. 670ff.
