The tetranuclear nickel cluster {[Ni 4 (L) 4 (C 2 H 5 OH) 4 ] · 7H 2 O} ( 1 ) was synthesized based on the tridentate Schiff base ligand H 2 L = 1‐phenyl‐3‐[(2‐hydroxyphenyl)imino]‐1‐butanone. The structure of 1 was determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. It exhibits a discrete [Ni 4 O 4 ] cluster. Magnetic studies indicate that ferromagnetic interactions exist within compound 1 . Furthermore, thermogravimetric analysis and PXRD patterns in various solvents reveal thermal and solvent stability of compound 1 .
