The crystal structure of magnesium potassium arsenate hexahydrate, MgKAsO 4 · 6H 2 O, was refined from powder diffraction data. MgKAsO 4 · 6H 2 O crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pmn 2 1 with Z = 2, as the biomineral struvite. Complete dehydration of MgKAsO 4 · 6H 2 O proceeds in a single step, with one endothermic peak at 87.9 °C ( T onset ). The infrared and Raman spectra of protiated and deuterated polycrystalline samples were recorded at room temperature and at the boiling temperature of liquid nitrogen (LNT). The assignments of the observed bands are proposed and spectra‐structure correlations are made.
