The cover picture shows the complete solid solution Ba 1− x Eu x Si exhibits spinglass behaviour at x =0.3 and below. For higher Eu contents different kinds of magnetic ordering are observed. The strong superexchange is seemingly due to the extended π* systems of the planar infinite [Si − ] n Zintl anion chains.
