( p ‐Tol 3 Sn) 2 MoO 4 was prepared by the reaction of p ‐Tol 3 SnCl with (NBu 4 ) 2 [Mo 6 O 19 ] and (NBu 4 )OH. The title compound crystallises trigonal with a = 2769.2(2) and c = 3576.3(3) pm, space group R 3. The crystal structure consists of MoO 4 tetrahedra that are linked by p ‐Tol 3 SnO 2 bipyramides to give a 3D network structure and additionally every second MoO 4 tetrahedron shares a corner with a terminal p ‐Tol 3 SnO tetrahedron. ( p ‐Tol 3 Sn) 2 MoO 4 exhibits an uninodal (10,3)a network which is related to the structure of (NBu 4 )[(Ph 3 Sn) 3 MoO 4 ]·CH 3 CN.
