The cover picture shows a fragment of the crystal structure of the new fulleride KC 60 (THF) 5 ·2THF in the foreground. In this compound, the C 60 ‐ radical‐anion is fully ordered. A constitutive structural feature is octahedrally coordinated potassium atoms with five THF and one fulleride as ligands. C 60 ‐ is functioning as a η 3 ‐ligand: [K(η 3 C 60 )(η 1 ‐THF) 5 ·2THF. The glassware shown in the background has been developed to adapt the “break‐and‐seal” method for fulleride synthesis, warranting highest purity of the products.
