The reaction of iron(II) acetate with the tetradentate Schiff base like ligands H 2 L 1 ((E,E)‐[{diethyl 2,2′‐[1,2‐phenylenebis(iminomethylidyne)]bis[3‐oxobutanato]) and H 2 L 2 ([3,3′]‐[1,2‐phenylene‐bis(iminomethylidyne)]bis(2,4‐pentane‐dionato)‐N,N′,O2,O2′]) leads to the formation of the octahedral N 2 O 4 coordinated iron complexes [Fe L 1(MeOH) 2 ] and [Fe L 2(MeOH) 2 ], respectively. Conversion of both with bimm (bis(1‐imidazolyle)methane) leads to the 1D coordination polymers [Fe L 1(bimm)]·0.5MeOH ( 1 ) and [Fe L 2(bimm)] ( 2 ). Compound 1 is a pure high‐spin (HS) complex, which was characterised by using magnetic measurements and X‐ray structure analysis. Compound 2 undergoes an irregular and incomplete thermal spin transition.
