A highly chlorinated C 78 fullerene, C 78 ( 2 )Cl 30 , was obtained by the reaction of the isomer C 78 ( 2 ) with SbCl 5 in ampoules at 330–340 °C. Single‐crystal structure determination revealed that the C 2 v ‐C 78 Cl 30 molecule contains only isolated double bonds and aromatic benzenoid rings in the C 78 carbon cage. Therefore, C 78 Cl 30 represents the highest possible chlorination degree for C 78 fullerenes obtained so far.
