Some platinum boryl complexes of the type trans ‐[(Cy 3 P) 2 Pt(Cl){B(Cl)R}] ( 1 : R = NMe 2 , 2 : R = Mes, 3 : R = t Bu) were synthesized by oxidative addition of the corresponding dichloroboranes to [Pt(PCy 3 ) 2 ]. All the compounds were characterized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy in solution. Furthermore, a single crystal analysis was acquired from 2 , that confirms the strong trans ‐influence of this boryl ligand.
