The germanium(II) and gallium(III) organochlorides containing the C 6 F 5 ‐substituted β ‐diketiminate ligand LGeCl ( 2 ) and LGaCl 2 ( 3 ) (L = HC[(CMe)(NC 6 F 5 )] 2 ) were synthesized. Salt elimination reactions of the C 6 F 5 ‐substituted β ‐diketiminato lithium salt with the corresponding germanium(II) and gallium(III) chlorides led to the organochlorides respectively. Compounds 2 and 3 were characterized by spectroscopic and elemental analyses, and 2 was further investigated by single crystal X‐ray structural analysis.
