The synthesis and structural characterization of a bis‐dicobalt derivative of dimethyl hex‐3‐en‐1,5‐diyne‐1,6‐dicarboxylate, [{Co 2 (μ‐dppm)(CO) 4 } 2 (μ:μ‐MeO 2 CC 2 CH=CHC 2 CO 2 Me)]·2CHCl 3 ( 1 ) is described, permitting, in the context of previous related studies, comparison of the effects of progressive substitution of the ethene hydrogen atoms by C≡C·SiMe 3 groupings.
