The Copper(II) complex benzylcinchonidinium trichlorocuprate(II) ( 1 ) was obtained by the thermal treatments of CuCl 2 with benzylcinchonidinium chloride ( L1 ) in Pyrex tubes. The enantioselective efficiency of 1 studied by alkylation reaction of N ‐(diphenylmethylene)glycine tert ‐butyl ester ( L2 ) is similar to that of normal benzylcinchonidinium chloride ( L1 ).
