Synthesis and Crystal Structures of Spirocyclic Gallium and Indium Chalcogen Heterocycles [(Me 2 Ga) 6 S(SSiMe 3 ) 4 ], [(Me 2 Ga) 6 Se(SeSiMe 3 ) 4 ] and [(Me 2 In) 6 S(SSiMe 3 ) 4 ] The isostructural title compounds [(Me 2 M) 6 E(ESiMe 3 ) 4 ] (M = Ga, In; E = S, Se) crystallize in space group C 2/ c and consist of two M 3 E 3 rings in twist conformation, sharing a common chalcogen atom. The reactivity of the remaining M–CH 3 and E–SiMe 3 bonds can be used for further reactions.
