From the reaction of [Fe 2 (CO) 6 {μ‐COLi(THF) 3 } 2 ] ( 1 ) with two equivalents of Me 3 SiCl in THF solution the trinuclear cluster [Fe 3 (CO) 9 (μ 3 ‐COSiMe 3 ){μ 3 ‐COLi(THF) 3 }] ( 2 ) could be isolated, in which the COLi(THF) 3 ligand bridges two iron atoms and is bonded to the third Fe atom in a semibridging manner. 2 is characterized by an X‐ray analysis; it crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1 /n with a = 1471.6(2), b = 1169.6(1), c = 2043.8(2) pm, β = 94.05(1), Z = 4.
