The oxygen‐incorporating compound [{(C 7 H 7 LiO) 6 (thf)( μ ‐diglyme‐ κO,κO′ )}]Li 2 O ( 1 ) was obtained by lithiation of 2‐bromomethoxybenzene with n ‐butyllithium in n ‐pentane, thf and diglyme. 1 ranks among the rare species of μ 6 ‐O 2– ions encapsulating organolithium compounds. At the centre of this mixed aggregate is an octahedral Li 6 O‐unit, which is additionally capped by lithium atoms at two facing Li 3 triangles.
