The reaction of Te powder, NaBH 4 and Me 2 N(CH 2 ) 3 Cl·HCl provided the title compound [H 3 BNMe 2 (CH 2 ) 3 ] 2 Te ( 1 ), whose selective chlorination with SO 2 Cl 2 lead to the formation of [ClH 2 BNMe 2 (CH 2 ) 3 ] 2 TeCl 2 ( 2 ) and [Cl 3 BNMe 2 (CH 2 ) 3 ] 2 TeCl 2 ( 3 ), respectively. Compounds 1 – 3 were characterized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X‐ray diffraction.
