Ruthenium(II) Complexes of Orthometallated O'Donnell Schiff Bases (Diphenylmethylene Glycine Esters) [1] The reaction of diphenyl methylene glycine esters with [Ru(PPh 3 ) 3 Cl 2 ] gives the orthometallated complexes [Ru(PPh 3 ) 2 (Cl){(C 6 H 4 )(C 6 H 5 )C=NCH 2 CO 2 R}] (R = H, Et, CMe 3 ) in which the ester group is coordinated to the ruthenium atom and which were characterized by IR, NMR, MS data and by cyclovoltammetry.
