The 2‐haloimidazolium salts [C 11 H 20 N 2 X]X [ 1 ; X = Cl ( a ), Br ( b )] react with TeX 4 to give the salts [C 11 H 20 N 2 X] 2 [TeX 6 ] [ 2 ; X = Cl ( a ), Br ( b )]. The crystal structure analyses of 2a and 2b · CH 2 Cl 2 reveal the presence of ionic pairs linked by weak halogen to halogen interactions.
