[Pt(Hmimt) 4 ](NO 3 ) 2 : Hydrogen Bonding Determines the Difference between the Structures of the Tetrakis[1‐methyl‐2(3H)‐imidazolinethione]platinum(II) Cation in its Chloride and Nitrate Salts

The yellow‐orange crystals of [Pt(Hmimt) 4 ](NO 3 ) 2 [Hmimt = 1‐methyl‐2(3 H )‐imidazolinethione] are monoclinic [P2 1 , a = 8.136(3), b = 13.978(4), c = 12.150(9)Å, β = 96.89(5)°]. They consist of [Pt(Hmimt) 4 ] 2+ cations and nitrate anions. In the cation the Pt atom is coordinated by four S atoms [Pt‐S: 2.291(5)‐2.357(5)Å] in a slightly distorted square planar arrangement.
