CF 3 S(O)F, (CF 3 ) 2 SO, CF 3 SF 3 , (CF 3 ) 2 SF 2 , and SF 4 react in different manner with XeF + MF 6 − (MAs, Sb). An oxidative fluorination is observed by CF 3 S(O)F forming the persulfonium salt CF 3 S(O)F 2 + SbF 6 − , whereas by (CF 3 ) 2 SO a simple addition product containing xenon can be isolated in form of the sulfonium salt (CF 3 ) 2 SOXeF + SbF 6 − . On the contrary, the Lewis‐acidic character of the XeF + ‐cation predominates against (CF 3 ) n SF 4−n (n = 0 − 2) leading to the corresponding fluorosulfonium salts (CF 3 ) n SF 3−n + MF 6 − (MAs, Sb) and XeF 2 .
