The liquid‐solid equilibria diagram of the InF 3 BaF 2 system is established by D.T.A. The fluorides BaInF 5 , the dimorphic Ba 3 In 2 F 12 , and also a cubic phase Ba 1−x In x F 2+x , the structure of which derives from that of BaF 2 , are disclosed. The two forms of Ba 3 In 2 F 12 give solid solutions. An isothermal section of the ternary system BaF 2 CuF 2 InF 3 at 540°C is given. It shows the existence of only one quaternary fluoride: tetragonal BaCuInF 7 .
