Fluoride des Typs Ba 2 M II M III F 9 treten in 3 unterschiedlichen Strukturen auf: Fluoride mit M III =Al kristallisieren orthorhombisch (Ba 2 ZnAlF 9 ‐Typ) oder M III =Metall der 3d‐Reihe) in einer monoklin verzerrten Variante (Ausnahme: Ba 2 NiGaF 9 ); für den Fall M II = Mg findet man eine tetragonale Elementarzelle (Ba 2 MnFeF 9 ‐Typ).
