Abstract The chelates 1 – 5 were obtained in good yield by reacting the carbonyl component with primary amine or hydrazine and organo‐boric acid. The compounds were characterized analytically (by elemental analysis and quantitative determinations of acidic hydrogen atoms and reducible groups) and spectroscopically (uv‐vis; ir; nmr: 11 B, 1 H, 13 C). Benzene is liberated on heating 4 . The novel chelate 6 was investigated using analytical and spectroscopic methods.
