The synthesis of lanthanide amido complexes of the type Ln(CH 3 CONR) 3 (I), (OPr i )Ln(C 6 H 5 CONC 6 H 5 ) 2 (II), and (OBu t )Ln(C 6 H 5 CONC 6 H 5 ) 2 (III) [where Ln = La, Pr, Nd; R = C 6 H 5 , p‐NO 2 C 6 H 4 , p‐BrC 6 H 4 ] are described. Infrared spectra indicate deprotonation of the secondary amide (anilide). Anion coordination is proposed as chelating bidenate ligands.
