Syntheses and characterization of a series of complexes of vanadium(V) containing one or two coordinated N‐methylhydroxylamido(1−)‐ and hydroxylamido(1−)‐ligands, respectively, are reported: [VO(H(CH 3 )NO)(AA) 2 ]°, [VO(H 2 NO)(AA) 2 ]°, [VO(H(CH 3 )NO) 2 (AA)]°, [VO(H 2 NO) 2 (AA)]° ((AA) = pyridine‐2‐carboxylate), [VO(BB)(H 2 NO) 2 ] + (BB = 2,2′‐bipyridyl or 1,10‐phenanthroline). In addition, nitrosylhydroxylamido(O, N) complexes of vanadium have been prepared from solutions of V v and H 2 NOH and a tridentate organic ligand: [V(AAA)(H 2 NO)(NO) (OH 2 )] n ((AAA) = pyridine‐2,6‐dicarboxylate n = 1−; 2,2′,6′,2″‐tripyridyl n = 1+; 1,1,1‐ tris(aminomethyl)‐ethane n = 1+). The coordinated H 2 O can be substituted by NH 3 or CN − . Red‐ nitrosyl complexes have been obtained from alkaline solutions of the tetradentate ligand tris‐(2‐hydroxypropyl)amine (THA), vanadium(V) and H 2 NOH: [V(THA)(NO)(H 2 O)] − .
