Cu(C 6 H 5 COO) 2 · H 2 O · (β‐C 6 H 7 N) 2 has been obtained as blue crystals by slow evaporation at room temperature. The crystals belong to the orthorhombic system, space group Pn2 1 a, with four molecules in a unit cell of dimension: a = 20.387(8), b = 18.997(6) and c = 6.191(2) Å; V = 2394 Å 3 , ϱ = 1,4 g em −3 . The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by least squares method (R = 0.041). The coordination of Cu 2+ ion is five. The structure consists of chains held together with van der Waals bonds.
