The interaction MnO 3 F with HF and HCI was studied by means of matrix‐isolation infrared spectroscopy. Gaseous MnO 3 F reacts with HCl forming MnO 3 Cl; some evidence for the probable existence of MnO 3 FHF complexes is also presented. Isotopic data ( 35/37 Cl) obtained from matrix‐isolation spectra unknown fundamentals (from the spectrum of the solid substance) as well as a vibrational analysis are reported for MnO 3 Cl.
