The glassy domain of the system PSe corresponds to the range 3 to 52 at. % P. Within range 18 to 52 at. % P, a simple relationship has been established namely: T g = 3/4 T 1 between the glass transition temperature T g and the liquidus temperature T l for the phase diagram PSe. The domain of PS glasses corresponds to the range 2 to 24 at. % P. Infra‐red spectroscopy indicates SS likages do exist. Two methods for preparing the definite compound P 4 Se 10 are described. The first one starts from P 4 Se 3 and Se, whereas the second starts from white P and Se. P 4 Se 10 has been found to be amorphous by X‐ray crystallography; it melts at 215°C and it is characterized by its infrared spectrum.
