The results of magnetic and spectral studies of the hydrolysis of the oxopentabisulfatomolybdate(V) complex are reported. The magnetic properties, electronic spectra and structure of the monomeric [MoO(HSO 4 ) 5 ] 2− complex and its dimeric oxygen bridged hydrolysis products are discussed.
