Racemic μ‐amido‐μ‐peroxo‐bis[bis(ethylenediamine)cobalt(III)] trithiocynate hydrate, DL‐[(en) 2 Co · μ(NH 2 , O 2 )· Co(en 2 )](SCN) 3 · H 2 O, crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbca with lattice constants a = 26.766(2), b = 12.727(1) and c = 14.461(1) Å; Z = 8. Intensity data were colleted visually from W EISSENBERG photographs. The structure was determined by P ATTERSON methods and refined by F OURIER and least‐squares techniques. The final R index for 2172 observed reflections of non‐zero weight is 0.076. The cobalt atoms are octahedrally coordinated. The five‐membered central ring of the cations is considerably puckered, The OO bond distance in the O 2 bridge is 1.46 Å. This geometry indicates that the O 2 bridge is properly described as a peroxo group.
