Solution electronic spectra (λ = 400–1350 mμ) of the [H 3 NiFeW 11 O 40 ] 6− heteropolyanion as compared with those of the [Ni(H 2 O) 6 ] 2+ aquo‐ion were recorded. On the basis of the ligand field parameter, of the effective magnetic moment and of the molar extinction as well as of the characteristics of the spectra, the octahedral environment of Ni 2+ in the 11‐tungstonickeloferric anion was demonstrated.
