A simple method for preparation of Zinc, Cadmium, Mercuric and Cobalt Acetylacetonates

By mixing ZnO, CdO HgO, CoO and Co 3 O 4 , respectively, with acetylacetone at room temperature, in the presence of the proper solvents, the corresponding metal acetylacetonates were obtained directly in good yields. The molecular structure was confirmed on the basis of UV spectroscopy, melting points, metal analysis and X‐ray powder photography.
