Nickel cyanide‐ammonia, Ni(CN) 2 · NH 3 , forms clathrate compounds with a variety of organic molecules such as aniline, benzene, and thiophene. The present results indicate that the IR absorption characteristics of the captured molecules in their environment in the nickel cyanide–ammonia cage are similar to those of the molecules in the liquid state.
