Detailed investigations have been carried out of the reaction of uranyl ion with N‐hydroxyethyl ethylene‐diaminetriacetic acid and ethyleneglycol bis‐(2‐aminoethyl) ether tetraacetic acid by potentiometric and spectrophotometric methods. Evidence is presented for the formation of 1:1 and 2:1 complexes and the corresponding hydroxy species. The formation constants of all these species were determined by spectrophotometric method.
