The preparation and structure of isopropylidene benzoichydrazide and isopropylidene salicylichydrazide complexes with some divalent metal ions of the first transition series are discussed. The structure of the ligand in the solid chelates is investigated by IR‐spectrophotometry which showed that the ligand is coordinated to the central metal ion through the oxygen atom of the CO group and the nitrogen atom of the CN group.
