Following three types of new compounds (EtO) 3 M(glycol), (EtO)M(glycol) 2 and M(glycol) 3 (where M is niobium or tantalum) were isolated by the reactions of niobium and tantalum pentaethoxides with various glycols (butane‐1.3‐diol, neopentyl glycol and hexane‐1.6‐diol). Molecular weights of the few soluble compounds show that they are dimeric in benzene.
