Visible absorption spectroscopic measurements on a series of tetracoordinated aliphatic amine complexes of copper (II) succinimide indicate a single absorption band in the vicinity of 630 mμ region. Attempts have been made to correlate the position of the absorption band with the characteristic t 2g → e g transition of the metal and with the possible cis‐trans isomerisms of the complexes.
