The composition Sr 3 B 16 O 27 · 5H 2 O recently assigned to the mineral veatchite is incompatible with the known cell volume, density, and space‐group requirements of the mineral. Retention of the formula SrB 6 O 10 · 2H 2 O for veatchite is advisable at present.
