Reactions of aluminium chloride with alcohols (ethyl and isopropyl) and the reverse reactions of hydrogenchloride with aluminium ethoxide and isopropoxide in benzene medium have been investigated. The products isolated in both the cases have nearly the same analyses and show similar changes on being heated to definite temperatures under reduced pressure.
