Separation of light rare earths by elution with sodium triphosphate in the P h range 5–8 has been studied. Satisfactory resolutions of SmNd and PrLa concentrates are obtained with a 0.2% eluant at P h 6. Fractionation of the NdPr pair is poor. In general separations at this higher P h are not as clear‐cut as at p h 3.6, but have the advantage of a considerable saving in the consumption of triphosphate.
