Studies of conductivity, freezing point depression and p H indicate the existence of the complex compounds K 2 [CdBr 4 ] and K 2 [CdI 4 ] in the systems: CdBr 2 KBrH 2 O and CdI 2 KIH 2 O respectively. Negative values of transference number of cadmium ion and the marked deviations of conductance from the additivity observed in the system: CdI 2 KIH 2 O, show that the complex K 2 [CdI 4 ] indicated by the physico‐chemical properties is quite stable.
