Approximate constancy of U 0 /T m and U 0 /T b among the members of different groups of similar solid substances has been shown to be due to existence of near‐correspondence among the members of individual groups at the melting (T m ) and boiling (T b ) points. The lattice theory of crystalline structure also leads to similar conclusions provided one makes a very reasonnable assumption that the equilibrium radius r 0 in different solids varies inversely as T m . Experimental data is adduced in support of this assumption. A few more cases of similar solids have been discussed besides those considered in earlier papers (2) .
