A method is presented for the accurate and comparatively rapid analysis of ferro‐alloys by x‐ray fluorescence spectrometry. It involves oxidation and fusion of the ferro‐alloys to produce a glass disc/bead. The method is also used for the analysis of oxide materials containing metallic iron, manganese, aluminium and silicon. The equipment and materials used are readily available in most laboratories using XRF instrumentation.
