A method of correcting for particle‐size effects in the XRF analysis of ore slurries is proposed. The use of a calculated heterogeneity factor for correcting the intensity of fluorescent x‐rays from the determined element is suggested. The possibility of using a value of a weight fraction of particles smaller than 75 μm for determining the heterogeneity factors has been studied. The method has been tested experimentally on samples simulating zinc‐lead and copper ore slurries.
