Over recent years, some confusion has arisen regarding the transmission properties of commercially available frame‐mounted polypropylen flow counter windows compared to those of the loose sheet polyethylene teraphthalate (Mylar) material previously available. Experimental results obtained for Ca to F Kα characteristic radiations inclusive enable the transmissions of 6 μm Mylar 1 μm polypropylene to be calculated which in turn are compared to earlier published data.
