GaSb single crystals have been used to demonstrate the role of crystallographic polar surfaces in double crystal X‐ray spectrometry. Intensity is higher for the pair of (111) surfaces, whereas the half peak width is smaller for the pair of ( 1 1 1 ) surfaces.
