Chapter 2 presents labour market trends by broadly defined region. For each region, key labour market indicators are first analysed, alongside an assessment of the region's overall economic development. The regional sections then focus on key labour market themes, which were selected by regional experts and reflect pressing problems related to decent work in the respective region. The themes include labour market challenges for young workers (Africa; Europe and Central Asia), skills mismatch and regional disparities (North America), gender gaps in the labour market (Latin America and the Caribbean), inequalities defined by gender and migration or refugee status (Arab States), and technological progress and rural‐urban disparities (Asia and the Pacific).
