Statistical software is an inevitable part of statistical analyses. Minitab is a well‐known statistical software, which was developed in 1972 by three university instructors as a teaching tool for introductory statistics courses. But, today it has strengthened its position not only in introductory statistics courses but also in advance statistical courses at universities, and even in government, business, and industry. In this article, some properties of the software and some of the improvements made by its latest version are presented and its importance as a teaching tool has been emphasized.
